To DNF, or not to DNF

That is the question we all face at some point. DNF for the uninitiated stands for “Did Not Finish”. Not finishing a book can be a touchy subject amongst the book community. Some die-hards will always finish a book, others are serial DNFers. I was always really proud of myself for finishing every book I ever picked up, that was until last week. I started reading a eARC book through Netgalley and really struggled through to 40%, and I mean really struggled. And I had to seriously ask myself the question, why am I truly reading this? I turn 30 next year and started realising how little I’ve achieved on…

Circle of Shadows was this month’s Unbreakable Bond Mystery Book in January’s Fairyloot box . It just so happens it’s one of my most anticipated reads for 2019. Circle of Shadows follows two apprentice Warriors of the Society of Taigas, Sora and Daemon who, live in a kingdom of peace. As their graduation approaches, Sora and Daemon look forward to proving themselves worthy, But in a kingdom free of violence since the Blood Rift Rebellion many years ago, it’s been difficult to make their mark. Saints and Scars: Illumicrate Unboxing

I mentioned in my King of Scars review that I bought the fancy pants edition from Illumicrate. But what I failed to mention was that the edition was a special limited hardback available only through the Illumicrate Saints and Scars box. Which I managed to blag! The box was set to include over 10 officially licensed Grishaverse-related items designed in collaboration with Leigh Bardugo with all items based on characters, quotes and places from the fantasy universe and an exclusive special hardback edition of the book. Check out my Illumicrate unboxing video below and see all the glory that was the Illumicrate Saints and Scars Grishaverse special Box.  Full list…

    February Wrap Up

February has been a lot of beginnings. This blog, Never Enough Novels was started this month and I also unwillingly started my book buying ban. I began Never Enough Novels to share my love of books and what I was reading with a wider audience, rather than just bugging my boyfriend. Hopefully in the coming months, I’ll tackle my TBR during my Book buying ban and be able to Buy all the things at YALC, I honestly can’t wait! I’m writing myself a to-buy list ready for July. I just can’t help myself. This month saw me logging on to twitter more regularly as well and joining in with the…

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

It’s January so that means we have a whole year of new releases ahead of us, yay ! One new release that I have been really really looking forward to comes out this month, and it just so happens to be the sequel today’s Book Review – The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. With that release so close, I knew I just had to re-read where the story begins, so let’s get going with: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. “Because you’re like a story that hasn’t happened yet. Because I want to see what you will do. I want to be part of the unfolding of the tale.” Holly…

    Book Buying Ban: Beginnings

After chatting with my better half, Ant yesterday, I’ve decided to take drastic action. I’m putting myself on a Book Buying Ban for 5 months! Shock, horror!!! For any bookworm, those words are enough to send them into the foetal position.  But some sort of context is probably needed as well. YALC Noob I’m off to YALC this year! I’ve never been before, this will be my first year of attending and I’m super excited. But I know, for a fact, I’ll end up spending way too much money on books, adding them to my never ending TBR pile. With that in mind, I’ve decided to tackle my current To…

    January Book Haul

New Year= New books. Thats how it works right? I’ve had a fairly big book haul this month. I’ve bought a lot more books than I usually do, but what can I say I like books. I’m not going to apoligise for it! Given that I’ve only bought 16 books this month, isn’t massive compared to other books bloggers and vloggers. But I have a lot of juggling in my life and I’m trying not to overload my To Be Read pile. Although I’ve definitely considerable added to the never ending TBR list. You can watch my Book Haul video by scrolling down, or you can read the blurbs below.…
